Computers, in rudimentary form, have been around since the abacus, but computers in the modern sense were first developed around the 1940s. Computers progressed from punch-card programming to actual written programs with commands built in. Scientists today are working on computers with "artificial intelligence" that can "think" for themselves within defined limits. This development could have huge advantages. Think of a vacuum cleaner that can identify a dusty spot and go back to clean it up, or a dishwasher that identifies when the dishes aren't quite clean, and runs for another five minutes.
A computer can process data faster than any other machine designed to perform a similar task.
It can perform the same operation a million times in exactly the same way.
It has high-speed processing that is accompanied by high accuracy of results.
It can store large quantities of data and information.
Computers are very useful nowadays. Communications, it can bring you closer to you friends. No need for papers to store plenty of works, pictures, projects, movies, music, etc. You can do a lot of things with computer. And for me, I can't live without it.
Computer is a great device. It helps us in number of ways like it made calculation easy for us and can do it at much faster speed than human brain can do. Computers aid to lessen time consumption and repetitive tasks of copy and pasting. Computers are connected with internet (information data base) by which all type of information that humans want is on there. There are different soft-wares available in the market like Ms Office with the help of which one can type and save their documents
Disadvantages:
Nowadays, our society depends on the technology that caters our needs, especially to those people who works in different industries. Technology has a big influence in our daily lives because without technology, we are behind in the things that make our work easy. Also we don’t know or we are not updated in our environment, what are those crimes happening. There are many advantages in computer technology that helps the mankind in order them to respond to the new things in the modern society. One of this advantages were the: 1.) communication through social networking sites. We may be able to see and in touch with our love ones through the use of internet. Also, we are updated on what are happening inside and outside of the country. We can see them, the pictures that posted in their walls and we can send messages to them in just one click. 2.) We don’t need much money in order to have credit load and make a call for our relatives, only minimum of 10 pesos per hour, we may now have conversation through chatting. 3.) A student like me, I can make my research faster and easier through the help of computer and its networking sites.
A friend influences the way you think and the way you act. Because of the modern technology, the sense of humor was affected, uneven comments, nude pictures and that information they posted in private information about others can be in permanent records and it can be seen by anybody. The rise of the modern technology also affects the following: 1.) Unemployment of the students whom graduated in different courses especially in Bachelor of Science in information technology. There are students waiting for the jobs because of the competencies and lack of companies caters by our industries. 2.) Privacy, because through the computers, the communication has been quicker and easier and more convenient.
Technology has loss the skills of many talented people because the relationship of the teacher and the students has now had the gap unlike the teaching last few years that they both interact each other in the classroom. Speaking of learning, the most disadvantage of it was the individuality and it can cause conflict and the socialization may decrease because the children chose to stay at home and have much attention to the online games and social networks sites.
As a student, it is my advantage to know how to use the computer, what are the parts and functions because it is. The big help in my daily act in order to learn few things, you must explore the world of the computer technology and realize that the impossible things may be possible when you know how to. These are many things that you can learn in our modern technology today. You may copy and paste the details that you want to know and then save. But sometimes, these things may teach us to be lazy and timid. Because it has the process we call the spoon feeding method. Also the information that you want is just a right click away! It can cause also irritation of the eyes because of too much radiation in the monitor. Though it deals w/ the knowledge but also we can be addicted to it, I want to be connected always and I want to know the messages, pictures and the quotes posted on my friends wall.
Otherwise, the album companies today earned very small amount of money because in the internet, you can browse and surf. You just need to type the song you liked and download it. In just one glimpse, the song you want would be yours immediately. So, the companies and their products was not sold out.
